Subject - Goal

1. The Joint Postgraduate Studies Programme "Advanced Information Technologies and Services" aims at the coordinated development and organization of research directions in the field of Information Technology and in particular those related to areas of high priority for our country.

2. The Program treats purely the most advanced issues of technology and science in the field of Computer Science. The content and nature of the programme has been designed to respond successfully to the specific scientific needs caused by the rapid development of Computer Science at European and international level.

The courses of the programme have been selected to offer the postgraduate student the specialisation required by the latest technological developments in the field of Computer Science, in combination with the specific characteristics and needs of the modern Greek and European economy. The objectives of the MSc "Advanced Information Technologies and Services" are the following:

  • The pursuit of science and research in the field of the programme's specializations
  • The preparation and training of qualified and competent scientists and researchers who will promote the development of the country and Greek businesses in the Information Society.
  • Preparation for postgraduate studies at doctoral level.
  • The development of theoretical and applied informatics in Greece.
  • Strong collaboration between academia and business for the acceptance, use and dissemination of the most advanced Information Technology systems.
  • Cooperation with Greek, European and International Scientific Organizations, which deal with Information Technology issues.
  • Furthermore, the programme supports and promotes at the same time the common research field cultivated by the two institutions in the fields of communication systems, internet technologies, system security and education in the field of ICT.
